Spelonk - The end of the world is coming, if we like it or not…. it is reality.
To be a part of the Spelonk movie is extremely special and to share my fighting expertise in this movie is an absolute honor. I am beyond exited to be part of this movie produced locally. I cannot wait to create mind blowing fighting scenes, like never seen in action movies before. It is going to be spectacular, taking the South African film industry to the next level.

Anton Beukes is a self-defense expert, who started his training in 1998 with Martial Arts at a late age of 18 years old. From there onwards his love for the arts grew stronger day by day. Anton started in the style of kickboxing and four years later achieved his 1st degree black belt. After this he focused on training even harder and was motivated to get his 2nd degree black belt and obtained his 2nd degree black belt in 2006.
“I realized that Kickboxing wasn’t enough for me and I needed something more, more realistic and effective in a real life situation. I knew that this would be in the form of weapons, i.e. firearms and knives. Luckily for me, during 2006 we relocated from Worcester to Cape Town, which made it easier to get involved in this type of training, which today, I call my passion.”
December 2006, Anton met a gentleman, Mike, who has his own body guarding company, Intercept Training Concepts (ITC), and Anton made the decision to train with Mike and quickly realized that Mike had the knowledge and experience needed to understand realistic street defense. Mike introduced Anton to a well-known instructor, Mark Human, in the knife fighting system called Amok.
“I accepted Mike as my coach and mentor because of what people told me about him, that he understood real life street fighting.”
For the next almost four years, Anton did his unarmed combat with Mike and blade work with Mark. Anton travelled 70km, twice a week doing unarmed training followed by blade work with Mark. This took a lot of commitment, discipline and dedication. Mike agreed during the last part of 2009 that Anton was ready to start his firearm training. Anton started a beginner to advanced course in handgun by December 2009, training every Saturday from there onwards. After enormous dedication through out the following year, Anton completed his advanced handgun course at the end of 2010, passing with flying colors.
From 2011 onwards, Anton kept training with Mike, dedicating himself to become the best possible fighter he could be. Anton trained six to seven days a week, with some days doing two sessions per day.
“In 2013, I started to do demonstrations for ITC live as well as doing marketing for them on Facebook. The videos on Facebook became popular and more and more people started to follow me and commented on the videos. One of my videos went viral and I was overwhelmed by all the positive comments, by then we knew our way of realistic street fighting were becoming popular.”
With 2014 and 2015, being Anton’s best years of extreme hard work, dedication and a love for his passion, Anton became a phenomenon on Facebook, with thousands of followers and hundreds of likes and comments. Anton’s speed and footwork exceeds expectations beyond ones believes. Anton strives to be the best in what he does and follows the famous slogan: “The best or nothing”.
